The 2019 Jaguar F-PACE 25t R-Sport combines a relatively compact 2.0-litre turbocharged Ingenium four-cylinder with 184kW and 365Nm, enough for a claimed 0-100km/h time of around 6.8 seconds in the RWD version. Interestingly, the engine uses a twin-scroll turbocharger and delivers its peak torque from just 1,200rpm, giving the F-PACE strong low-down response while retaining plenty of top-end performance. The R-Sport also features Jaguar's Torque Vectoring by Braking, a system originally developed for the F-TYPE that selectively brakes the inside wheels through corners to help reduce understeer and sharpen the car's turn-in.

Despite its SUV proportions, the F-PACE was engineered with Jaguar's lightweight-aluminium philosophy, helping keep weight under control while maintaining a stiff structure. The 25t R-Sport is also capable of towing up to 2,400kg braked, while its practical cargo area expands from 508 litres to 1,740 litres with the rear seats folded.
